Specific Heat of Lead, Demo #8

For the bold, fearless instructor, this demonstration is based on the fact that the specific heat of lead is much smaller than that of water.  One pours 25g of lot lead shot (100 degrees Celsius) onto one's hand and suffers no ill effect.

Exo- and Endothermic Processes, Demo #26

Dissolving substances with exothermic heat of solution (lithium chloride) and an endothermic heat of solution.  Students in the class can touch the solutions to confirm the temperature changes.
