International Exchange Program with the University of Nottingham

Graduating soon? Apply for degree candidacy prior to your graduation semester!

Education from a University goes beyond learning experience in the classroom. By participating in activities that round out an academic career, students can diversify their academic profiles, and perhaps gain a competitive edge when it comes to awards or scholarships, jobs after graduation, or admission to graduate or medical schools.

Consider things like:

joining a club or student organization and taking advantage of opportunities for event planning or leadership
studying abroad; check out the new international chemistry exchange program
taking a mixture of courses, not just the requirements
adding a minor(s)
taking part in a research project you find to be interesting and relevant, even if it is outside your major department
becoming a preceptor/tutor/or student assistant to develop or sharpen your teaching skills
participating in campus workshops
participating in community service or doing volunteer work for an organization you find to be worthwhile

Many opportunities are announced via the CHEM major's email listserv. Chemistry majors are automatically added; minors may request to be added by contacting Robin Rarick.
