Undergraduate Research Lab Tour Program Fall 2007

Students new to chemistry or those who have never engaged in research are strongly encouraged to participate.

Priority will be given to those who have never done research!

For questions or to cancel a scheduled tour, contact:

Robin Rarick;626-7908 rrarick@email.arizona.edu

Are you an Undergraduate Chemistry Major who is:

  • interested in finding out what goes on in a research lab?

  • excited about the prospect of beginning a research project?

  • curious about opportunities?

Would you like to tour a few labs this fall and meet with faculty about project ideas?

Then participate in our Research Lab Tour Program this fall!

The purpose of the Research Lab Tours is to allow chemistry undergraduates who are interested in doing research to meet faculty and graduate students who are working in labs of interest. Students will rotate between research labs in groups of 3-5 students and spend about 30-45 minutes in each lab. You'll get to see and hear about the exciting cutting-edge chemistry research being done right here, and what role you may have as an undergraduate researcher!

Step #1) Check out the research profiles of the faculty listed at http://www.chem.arizona.edu/faculty/

Step #2) Choose up to 5 faculty members according to your research interests (rank them 1-5 with 1 being your top choice)

Step #3) Go to the online form and fill it out completely then click the submit button to send us your application.

The deadline for submission of the form is September 30th, 2007 Note: (There are no guarantees for accommodation if you miss this deadline!)

Step #4) When your form is received, the tours will be scheduled, (up to 5 tours per student this semester) and you will receive email notification and your schedule with dates, times, and locations for the fall by the middle of October.

No reminders will be sent; mark your calendar so you don’t miss out! If you need to cancel a scheduled tour, contact Robin Rarick; 626-7908 or  rrarick@email.arizona.edu.
